How do I get more detailed information on the Zero workstations? In particular, the PCIe expansion slots and the power cable connectors available off the motherboard or power supply to power the PCIe board. Specifically, I need support for an PCIe 3.0 x8 card and a Molex type 4-pin receptable off the power supply harness for powering the card. Looking at the builds that contain SKU SY2762 for example.
Hi David,
The Zero Pro Z5 (SKU SY2762) uses an ASUS PRIME B860M-A WiFi motherboard and a 750 W 80+ Gold PSU.
-
PCIe slots: 1 × PCIe 5.0 x16 (best for your PCIe 3.0 x8 card), 1 × PCIe 4.0 x16 (wired x4), 1 × PCIe 4.0 x1.
-
Power: The PSU typically includes at least one 4-pin Molex connector on its peripheral harness for add-in-card power. If your unit doesn’t, request the Molex cable for your PSU model or use a SATA-to-Molex adapter for low-draw devices.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Is there onboard graphics or would I have to dedicate that 5.0 x16 slot to a graphics card?
Yes, the Zero Pro Z5 with the Intel Core Ultra 5 225 includes integrated graphics, so no GPU is required. The ASUS PRIME B860M-A WiFi board provides HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and your PCIe 3.0 x8 card will work fine in the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. The 750 W 80+ Gold PSU typically includes a 4-pin Molex; if not, a SATA-to-Molex adapter works for low-draw cards.
