Yes that microphone, the MH-36E8J will work with your FT-450. The wording “works with the FT-450D as is” means that the keypad on this mic will work directly with your radio. Note that for other radios, like the FT-857 and the FT-897, direct entry from the keypad to the radio is not possible. So you are all set!
Note that the stock micophone that came with your FT-450D is the Yaesu MH-31AHJ (which does not have keypad frequency entry) and we carry and is in stock.
