Yaesu announced a replacement for the incredibly popular FTM-500 at Orlando HamCation. The new FTM-510DR ASP should be shipping later this month and GigaParts is taking orders now.
Yaesu has integrated their latest ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor) technology into this radio that digitially removes noise from FM audio, which helps make weak signals on the fringe of radio coverage more readable, effectively increasing the range.
This radio also features an updated Primary Memory Group function, allowing you to monitor up to 5 VFO or memory channel frequencies at a time. A color bar graph shows the reception status.
The optional BU-5 Bluetooth module allows for seamless integration with the SSM-BT20 headset. It also works with some 3rd party headsets.
