Well the Mars Mod, only adds more frequencies, and does not affect the transmitting range or transmitting distance of the radio. Your transmitting range on 2 meters or 440 with 50 watts depends on the band, your antenna, your height above ground, surrounding objects. On 2 meters with a mag mount antenna you could get 10 to 30 miles. Clearly if you use a yagi antenna, your distance could be farther.
sorry, didn’t mean distance but TX in more frequency range. will it cover in the murs and GMRS if i want to use that area out side of the ham band. What will be the open frequency range to TX on is what i trying to say.

The GMRS frequencies, as you know are 463 - 467 mhz and MURS frequencies are 151.820 - 154.600 MHZ. The Mars Mod will open this radio up to transmit on those frequencies.
