Yaesu 991a antena tuner

Hello everyone, happy Sunday!

I would like to ask what antenna, other than the ATAS-120A, you would recommend for use with the Yaesu FT-991A, preferably one that works well with the radio’s built-in antenna tuner.

I’m asking because I would like to install another antenna. I know everyone says the ATAS-120A is a very good antenna, and I agree—but for me, it works great when it wants to! I don’t know if you know what I mean. Sometimes it simply won’t tune on 40 meters.

I would like an antenna that covers several HF bands and, ideally, does not require me to retune it every time I change frequencies or bands.

What antenna would you recommend for the FT-991A?

The ATAS-120A is great for installing on a vehicle. It could be used as a permanent antenna, too, but you’ll get better performance out of a wire antenna like the classic G5RV design.
