Will a LDG-RBA 1:1 work on a 2-meter dipole?

I’m building a small 2m dipole just to run in the shack and send/receive APRS data. I was using a plain cobra Head and two 10ga pieces of wire and it was working just fine when someone said “oh, that would work much better with a 1:! choke on it”, which I generally think is right on a dipole.

So I dug out a (nearly new) RBA-1:1 and used that in place of the Cobra Head. Tunes up great but now the system is acting deaf…

Soes this balun work on VHF? I see it’s officially rates for 3-30MHz and wondering if I should do something else.

@Joe_Tennis That LDG is designed to cover from 1to 30 Mhz meaning 10-160 meters band so it won’t work for VHF.
