Just received the FT-891 yesterday. Wading thru the menu options and with the help of you tube I’m starting to be ok with it. My only problem and youtube and manual doesn’t help, is the volume is way too low for my use. I use earphones, two different pairs, that I’ve used with other radios with success. But the FT-891 just doesn’t have the horsepower to give me the volume I would like to have. Yes I’m hard of hearing but I’m hard of hearing with other radios that produce plenty of volume. What can be done? I’m all ears
@Gene_Hirschman Hello, Gene! There are sometimes some learning curves in the amateur hobby. Because of that, the manufacturers have technical experts standing by to assist. Here is the link for Yaesu Contact US phone/email . They should be able to advise if you have it set for maximum volume or if you might be able to add an external speaker.
Additionally, you may want to consider a powered or amplified external speaker such as our Intellitron SP-1405 that uses 12v power.
