The Heil pro Elite Headphone

There are 2 Heil Pro Elite Headphones listed on you web site. One is priced $184.95 and th3 other is $229.00. What is the difference between the 2?

@Russell_Ferguson The PSE 6 ZHL-PSE-6 for $228.99 has the newer Heil HC-6 dynamic microphone element and combines the best of the HC-5 and HC-4 elements. The other headset for $184.95, the ZHL-PSE-IC is specifically designed for ICOM radios and is a cardoid microphone element. The cardoid element is great for rag chewing and routine use and does not pick up sound from behind the mic and limited off to the sides. The HC-6 offers a “brighter” sound and has more “punch” for DX. In short, the PSE-IC is made specifically for Icom radios, while the PSE-6 offers a full range element and is better suited for a variety of radios.

Thank you. I have ordered the Icom specific model.

You will be well pleased. Once you get your headphones, and the adapter; you will see that there is a hand switch, or foot switch that you can order that plugs into the headset adapter. Some operators like this option so they can log while talking…especially for contests. For your consideration, here they are:

Foot Switch - FS-3

Some things to consider as you use your new headset!

Funny Stuff. I can’t answer that question. I have used my PS-6’s for over 30 years. PS-7’s give me a headache and I can’t hear anything but radio. The PS-6 is less expensive and you can hear the bellowing in the background.
Just my humble opinion. Here is the compatability chart.

Don’t be in a hurry. No one can really tell you what makes it sound tolerable. Play around with an audio program. When it sounds good to you, thre is a place to save that audio, on demand. The PS-7’s squeeze my fat head, After 30 plus years I’m sticking with PS-6
