I purchased an FTM-510 from Giga recently and realize I neglected a power supply for the base station usage. Is the Yaesu FP-1023 Power Converter the best option for that radio? I do not anticipate any other devices needing power in the foreseeable future.
Your FTM-510 draws 11 amps on full power. The FP-1023 is a 23 amp power supply and will provide more than enough power for your fine radio. I would not recommend a smaller power supply because you want some flexibility for the future. In fact, that power supply will run other items in your shack at the same time.
If, in the future, you choose to add a 100 watt radio, like the Yaesu FT-991A, it will draw 23 amps at full power of 100 watts so your FP-1023 will be fine for that use as well.
