I purchased this item from Giga Parts after my Elmer recommended it to me. It is advertised as fully extendable to 17’. It only extends to 15’5". I compared my antenna to my Elmer’s identicle Intellitron 17’ whip antenna. His antenn has 10 sections and extends to 17’5". My antenna only has nine sections, and extends to 15’5". I also campared my antenna with his Chameleon 17’ whip antenna. It also extends to 17’5".
@Bob_Hurley we have had this complaint before, and each time, when sent back to our facility, it was discovered there were sections that were not pulled out by the user. It does take some pulling force to fully extend. That additional section should definitely be there. You might try having someone to assist you. One person holding and one person pulling. Once you have used multiple times it will probably glide/extend more easily. If you feel you have a defective unit you would request a return RMA here: GigaParts.com

Thank you for your reply. I checked it very carefully on Saturday. I pulled on each section. But I just checked again. I “snapped” each section. When I got to the last big section, I snapped it and sure enough, I saw just a little bit of a section coming out. So I snapped it again and I found the missing section. It extended to 17’1".
