Can you have an hf rig along with a vhf/uhf rig hooked to this meter at the same time while both rigs are turned on and operational? I see it has two sets of inputs and outputs. With a switch to activate which frequency range you are using. Is there enough separation this can be done?
Yes you can. Note that there is the HF/UHF band switch on the front to move between the two antennas. Obviously you won’t transmit from both radios at the same time, but the one you are switched to on the meter.
Would it hurt the meter if I transmitted on vhf without using the switch from the hf side? Just purchased this meter and the instruction manual does not specify this. Thank you
Not sure I understand your question. You should switch to HF or VHF for the bands you are transmitting on. If you transmit without using the switch it probably won’t damage the meter, but you may not get much power out to your antenna; and of course the meter will not read correctly, but the meter can handle up to 200 watts on either HF or VHF/UHF.
