HT for Motorcycle

Hello. I am trying to determine the best coarse to take. I have a motorcycle with a HT CB with a hard wired antenna. I want to use the existing coax and add a VHF/UHF antenna and need to determine which connector adapter I need to work with a ham HT. Second issue is which is the best HT with Bluetooth capabilities and a PTT for this application.

@Christopher_Capps sorry for the delayed response. First, the feedline already in place can still be used as long as it is 50 Ohms. Second, I would recommend a dual-band antenna that is ground-plane independent, as motorbikes do not have the large surface area to provide one, unlike cars. I would highly recommend one of the following models: Comet GI190, GI250, or GI990.

As far as dual-band handhelds with Bluetooth capabilities, the Anytone AT-D878UVII-PLUS, Yaesu FT-5DR, Kenwood TH-D75A, and Icom ID-52A-PLUS. These HTs offer optional Bluetooth mics, but many customers have successfully used their own devices sometimes.Given that you already use a BNC in your bike, you can use an adapter from BNC male to SMA male if using Icom or Kenwood, and Anytone uses SMA female to BNC female.

Thank you! I appreciate all the information.
