I have an explorer QRZ 1 radio. Is there a way to listen in reverse?
@annie_c The QRZ-1 can listen to a repeater in reverse, meaning it monitors the repeater’s input to determine whether the other station’s signal is strong enough to work on simplex instead.
How is listening in reverse done?
There is not a reverse function key, on the QRZ-1, like some other radios. That does not mean it is not doable, but it takes some extra steps. When you person transmits, the radio will show the repeater’s input frequency. You can then quickly go to VFO and input that frequency directly using the keypad. Once done, you can toggle between memory and VFO.
