Hi, Looking for info on what size pole I’ll need for the Radiowavz Sentinel Hex Beam 10 & 6 Meter antenna. Also, any info on its directional capabilities would be appreciated.
@Dennis_Walters the only specification I have been able to acquire regarding the pole is - The inside diameter of the center pole is 1 1/4".
For directional capabilities I would recommend searching for YouTube videos. The manual advises - Please go to RadioWavz “YouTube” for further videos on constructing your Hex Beam.
The instructions that come with the antenna:
Included - 1 CENTER POLE, 1 HUB, 12 SPREADERS, 1 set of wires for 6m with the reflector and rope connected, 1 set of wires for 10m with the reflector and rope connected
CONSTRUCTING YOUR HEX BEAM · Place the hub on to the center support tube, line up the holes. Your tail piece (which you provide) should have matching holes for the hub. · Place the center support tube on a mast that is comfortable to work from waste height. · Place all 6 spreaders in the hub. Make sure the wire spacers on the spreaders are facing up. · Connect the first spreader support cord to the pole eye hook, then connect it to the end of the first spreader tip. Connect the opposite side of the hub to the 2nd spreader support cord to eye hook. Work your way around to all the spreaders like an X

Start with the 6m. · In a clock wise direction loop the 6m wire trough the spreader wire spacers till you reach the other side of the Hex Beam to connect it with the 2nd 6m you connected to the pole. ·
Repeat with the 10m
MAKING A CONNECTION: Connect the coax jumper to the top bolts of the center pole. Connect your coax to the jumper. (if the coax jumper is not already attached) Make a strain relief for coax that runs down to your radio. Weather proof all your connectors. It is suggested to add an inline choke right at the end of the coax jumper or a “dirty choke”.
