Got a new POTA 33H, cannot remove the top cap

Hi, I got my POTA 33H a week or two ago, but just today I opened it. For my surprise, the top cap cannot be removed. I looked into YouTube videos and it should be removed with no brutal force. I tried to pull it out and I all got were bruised hands. Yes, I am trying to remove the top, and not the bottom cap. It seems the top cap is fused to the cylindric container. Need help here, pls. I do not want to use any tool to remove it since it could damage the mast. I might need to get an exchange if I cannot use it. Thanks.

Update below, detailing my experience with the POTA 33H.

Tried to call, long wait, could not talk to anyone. I will do my last try to open this cap tonight, otherwise I will need to return the mast. It is a shame since I need it, but with no means to raise the mast since the top cap of the container cannot be removed, it is of no help. Thanks

Hi Eduardo……sorry you are encountering issues. Please scroll down to the bottom of the page. It says “Contact Us” You will be sending an email directly to customer service. They should be reaching out to you within 24 to 48 hours depending upon work load. They will work with you in resolving your problem. I am sorry I do not have a resolution for you, but am unfamiliar with the antenna. Thanks for being a loyal customer despite the issues. –Dale K8TS

I was able to remove the cap from the top of the pole :slight_smile: I protected the top portion of the pole with some wrapped plastic around it, and then I used hot water against the cap. It dilated it enough to break the bond and I finally for it open. The POTA 33H is not an antenna per si, but a carbon fiber telescopic mast. Tks for your support.

I had to do the same thing, It worked. Then I put the cap back on a bit later and guess what. It was stuck again, Back in the hot water it went.
There is obviously a design flaw with the cap.

So, update. I called and talk to a nice young lady. I fully explained th problem. After the 3rd time on hold so she could talk to someone, I was disconnected.

Update number 2. I called back yesterday. They are sending me a new cap.
