Is there recommended Explorer Modular backpack add for the Icom 7100 and tuner? I will buy the waterproof new backpack if I can use it for the IC-7100. What other accessories, besides PC for Winlink, should I consider, like which antenna etc. to go with the bag .. Thank you.
@Marida_FaviadelCore we have not previously had someone ask about using an IC-7100 in the MBP-20/30, and we do not have one specifically made for it. Since the IC-7100 is a remote head radio, it would require two separate add-in bags. The best options we have are the IP-891 for the main body and the IP-705v2 for the remote head - though neither are a perfect fit.
Dimensions
FT-891 - 6.1" x 2.0" x 8.6"
IC-7100 main body - 6.57" x 2.28" x 8.86"
IC-705 - 7.9" x 3.3" x 3.2"
IC-7100 remote head - 6.5" x 2.52" x 3.09"
The remote head would fit inside the IP-705V2 bag easily, but the main body would be a tight squeeze in the IP-891 bag and there are no guarantees that it would work.
Other consideration - these two bags would take up most, if not all, of the Velcro inside the MBP-30.
For a tuner - we don’t have any specific bags for tuners, though the IP-HPB might work, no guarantees.
