Is there an alternative to the MFJ-1925. I bought the Atas 120A Screwdriver antenna thinking that if I stopped using the FT-891 as a base station and bought a better suited radio for base use that I could purchase the MFJ-1925 to facilitate its use to continue using my Atas 120A. Now I’m ready to upgrade my base station with no way to continue using the Atas 120A.
@Gene_Hirschman After MFJ closed, the 1925 controller is no longer available, and I’m not aware of any other product that can replace it. You can still enjoy using your FT-891 with a completely different antenna for your HOA environment, such as the Chameleon MPAS-2.0, Comet CHV-5X, or the Radiowavz ZRW-EFH40-20-10, which is only 40 feet long and can be hidden among trees. For convenience, the ATAS-120 is the best solution for an HOA home. Adding radials as a counterpoise is essential for achieving the best performance from the antenna.
