Bioenno 50AH battery for Explorer EXP-PBB-V2 Deluxe Battery Box

Purchased an Explorer EXP-PBB-V2 and would like to put a 50AH Bioenno battery in it. There are two models of 50AH Bioenno battery available. One has standard terminals but has a height that is nearly the full depth of the battery box. The other battery is only 5.8 inches high but has an installed SB50 connector. I really don’t know what gauge wire was used to wire the battery box but presuming that its 10ga, is there anything that would prevent me from taking off the ring terminals and installing an SB50 to mate up with the battery?

Thanks,

Sean

@Sean_Gallagher it looks like the 1250AS would be too tight a fit, but could work, but I would go with the 1250A instead as it has room it appears. Should not be a problem replacing the ring terminals.

EXP-PBB-V2 interior Dims - 10.9" x 6.75" H x 5.75" W

1250A - 8.4" x 5.8" x 4.3"

Ok, I understand. What gauge wire was used for the primary leads? 10 ga is a minimum to work with the SB 50
Thanks,

@Sean_Gallagher The BLF-1250A has two connectors, wired in parallel on the battery’s
circuit board. The thicker cable terminates in a Gray Anderson SB50
connector and uses 10 AWG wire; the Red/Black Anderson Powerpole (PP45)
connector uses 14 AWG wire. To convert the Gray SB50 to a Red/Black
Powerpole connection, you would need the BA-PP45-SB50 adapter. We
recommend charging through the Red/Black PP45 connector and discharging
through the thicker SB50 cable because it is AWG 10. That said, you can
charge or discharge through either connector.

Thank you but I believe we are talking by each other. What I am trying to determine is the current carrying capacity of the battery box not the battery. What gauge are the primary leads ( the two with the ring terminals attached) in the battery box. I can’t find any specs for the battery box.

Thanks,

Sean

@Sean_Gallagher the gauge of the primary leads are 10 guage. Please take a look at all the pics on the Explorer EXP-PBB-V2 Product Listing. The specifications would be under the “Key Features” section of the description. I hope this information is helpful.
