Best coax / antenna for wide bandwidth scanner?

I have an Icom R8600 and I am actively looking for an antenna and associated coax for this radio. The radio goes from HF to 3 Ghz. The antenna will be about 50 ft from the radio.

Thanks!

The rear of your R8600 has 3 antenna inputs, so you will need more than one antenna. Antenna 2 is your HF antenna (0.1 to 30 MHZ) and has a PL - 259 connector. Most all HF antennas use RG8X coax which is fine for 50 feet. Antenna 1 is your vhf antenna using an N connector and running from 0.1 to 30GHZ, for this I recommend LMR 400 or Messi and Paolini Hyperflex 10 or Airborne 10. These both come with a PL-259 connector so you will need the N adapter.
The Comet Discone will do from 30MHZ or above 10 meters to 1.5GHZ and comes with RG58 coax Comet Antennas DS-150S. This does not get you all the way up to your 3GHZ.
So you will need several antennas…a good hf dipole or vertical, and one or two antennas for VHF/UHF.
