Is the IC-7300MK2 capable of working on 60meters? My IC-7300 was supposed to, but never could.
The 7300 advised it was available, but then in notes said it was not guaranteed. The MK2 version does include 60 meters.
I am operating 60m on both radios.
On the 7300 there was a firmware upgrade I believe, before 60m was open.
On neither radio is there a band stacking register for 60m.
On the 7300, you would insert the 5 frequencies for the old band plan in to memory locations and tune them that way.
I didnt need to do that on the MK2.
I just started up WSJT-X on 5357 and the VFO went there, then I could tune the 60m frequencies with the knob.
I dont think there are any safeties for 60m like band edge beeps
The 9 watt VFO band is fun. Got into Europe on FT8 quite a few times in the last few weeks. Folks are mostly doing FT8 and JS8Call.

Thanks, Bob!
My IV-7300MK2 arrives tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to the enhancements over the IC-7300 (which is still a wonderful radio!).
